Amber, You so captured what we take for granted,,,and when it is no longer there it sure leaves the sense for longing of what was,,I remember someone once told me....don't realize what you have after it is gone...as he had lost his wife...those words stayed with me

It is amazing how much different we feel and our world becomes when we are in love...such a small thing as a phone call or an email can make us smile the whole day through but an angry word or a rejection sits on our hearts like wet cement. Good capture Amber....

Amber,
You make this reflection so immediate..it's in the almost casually observed details
the boot gently moving
as if in sync with his feelings.
that the poem shines and speaks to the reader. Yes!

We all at one time or another, had our experience of making eye contact, a fleeting one, too short and yet, we got a "connection" which we couldn't shake away for days and that now and then we remember with a kind of "what if?"...

| I grab inspiration for poetry all over the place in the most unlikely places. This is tremendous stuff. Life and love in motion captured in real-time in harmonious, poetic nuance. Nice one! |

Amber, I was intrigued by the title of your poem and pleased that I clicked the link. Those casual, very quick encounters introduce us to the stuff we can write about. Your work is a pleasure to read.
Cheers,
Dan

It is so good to be back at AD where people pass out these feelings and we can take them in...doing our hearts good.
And sometimes, like with this...feeling our hearts beat out a high 5 reminding us of love.
Thanks for this.
