Angels Know

She walked among angels,
treading lightly
for angels always know,
what is truly in your soul.
Tenderly an angel wing
surrounded her like a glove
sending healing energy,
wrapping her with love.
Her heart broke tonight,
love escaped like a shot
filling the night air with cries
that moaned like the ocean.
Harsh words were spoken
in anger and in fear,
never to be taken back
once they were out there.
She will never forget the look
that lived upon his face
a hurt that cuts right to her core,
a memory that only time can erase.
As she stood upon the jagged rocks,
peering into the swirling ocean waves,
she thought about her life,
and knew it had to end.
No matter what she ever thought,
it never came out the way it should,
so why not jump and be done
and not hurt another soul.
As she stepped toward the edge,
her angel swept her up,
traveled for a moment
and dropped her on the shore.
She was dazed and confused,
but thanked her guardian angel,
She almost did the deed,
and she knew she wasn't really ready.
She had a second chance,
to make things turn out right,
scurried off the beach
and ran toward angel's light.
She was angel blessed
and now she must take destiny into her hands,
Upon her turning back she saw,
Him standing upon those same jagged rocks.
She held her breath, and ran,
but before she could reach the spot,
He jumped and was never seen again,
She sobbed and asked "WHY?"
The angel did reply,
My sweet child, it was his time to go.
You must not blame yourself,
for it is all meant to be.
Time went by and she had a family,
but each year she visited those jagged rocks,
a reminder to her to always live in peace
and hold what is dear close to your heart.
She walked among angels,
treading lightly
for angels always know,
what is truly in your soul.
