The Heart Of A Flower

THE HEART OF A FLOWER

a flower fair bloomed mid winter’s snow
up through solid rocks learning to grow
other flowers near, withered and died
and for their loss the little flower cried
she unfolded petals and breathed the air
the innocent flower, fragrant and fair

harsh storms raged with hurricane wind
each time she felt death’s hand again
but the flower was destined to survive
with every tempest becoming more alive
for in her heart grew the seeds of love
planted tenderly there by god above

her beauty became legend everywhere
and the scent of her love filled the air
she freely gave of her heart and soul
forever young she would never be old
and through eternity she would bloom
with heavenly light to dispel the gloom
