As you stand on the threshold of the journey of life.
May God be the center to govern and guide.
And bless you with love in your future together.
To stay through the trials of life and forever.

Look forward to the stages of life that's before you.
Nourish and cherish this bond that is true .
For time will pass quickly, as life moves along.
Let both joy and sadness keep your love strong.

Look forward to children, true gifts from God.
And guard and protect them wherever they trod.
When life gets to busy just rest in your love,
counting the blessings sent from above.

And when your children have grown taller than you.
Look forward to quiet time to learn things anew.
Treasure the memories of these stages of life.
That you have both shared as husband and wife.

As time brings you into the golden years,
remember the countless laughter and tears.
Smiling with thoughts of family and more.
Looking at pictures from birthdays before.

Be patient and kind to this one that you love,
as loving as Christ who shed his own blood.
And when you write the last page in life's journal.
Look forward to Jesus and heaven eternal.

This poem was read to my daughter and her husband on their wedding day as a surprise to them both during the ceremony.
