 Southern Belle

My love for you, southern belle,

shall outlive this mortal shell

when in dust my form must lie.

If, by chance, I first should die;

when I bid this world farewell

in your heart my love will dwell.

But, in the meantime, while I

am alive and you are nigh,

life is sweet and all is well.
