Upon the trails that we travel,
Life can sometimes be very hard;
As they lead to eternal life,
A gift offered to us by God.
Sometimes the trails can get rocky,
As we continue on our quest;
These are the times we need be strong,
When our faith is put to the test.
And put to the test, faith shall be,
As we travel along life’s trails;
If we keep our faith in the Lord,
Not a single one of us fails.
In God we can find happiness,
Even when a friend lets us down;
With our Lord we can find true peace,
Never needing to wear a frown.
Know that through faith, God always hears,
Trust in Him with all of our hearts;
In His time, He'll answer our prayers,
Just as He has right from the start.
Not all trails will be straight and smooth,
Still, they're lit by heavenly light;
From the Lord walking by our side,
He makes our trails safe day and night.
The final choice is up to us,
Whether we will choose to obey;
It's reflected in all we do,
And in all of the things we say.
A friendly smile, a thoughtful word,
A soft, caressing, tender touch;
Encouragement in time of need,
Traveling this way, these mean so much.
