His jet-black hair pulled back in a ponytail.
A fearless Italian stallion with a muscular build.
His smile is sexy, his black eyes saw through me.
They made me feel secure, protected, adored.
He always walks with that confident swagger.
His six foot five frame towers over me with love.
Danger is his lifestyle; revenge is his art.
He’s a man who knows no fear or boundaries.
So many years he stood at the sidelines.
He was taboo for me from the start.
But slowly feelings of desire overtook us.
His dangerous lifestyle didn’t deter me from his arms.
His feelings came through one Christmas Eve.
After 29 years he finally took the step, pulled me near.
Regardless of family and friends around, he kissed me.
Passionately, fiercely with a great love from within.
They wouldn’t cross him; they knew the consequences.
No one would show disapproval in any way..
Not to my Vinnie or his brother Dominic..
I realized it was he I loved all along from the start.
He was there all along; I see it now.
All those years he kept his feelings to himself.
Finally the right time came and he opened up to me.
Cautiously, we moved forward and wed.
He was there all along,
Doing his job, whatever was called on him to do.
He was there all along,
Watching, wanting, planning for that day.
He knew me best, the good and bad.
He knew my heart, my lifetime woes and joys.
He knew one day he’d walk into my life.
He knew all along one day he’d take me for his wife.
Looking back, every step I took with men I loved,
he was always there watching, protecting me.
Looking back I remember the sparkle in his eyes,
was always there, waiting for me...all along.
