Barnabas Collins longs for his departed love

Undying Inamorato

My love is as the seas of Widow's Peak
beloved Josette
Where David roamed and I once knew true life
It is night at Eagle Hill and you are truly gone
From me, forever taken, my ardor
And by the gloaming do I yet arise
The eternal hunger searing

And was it not this which brought you to grief
That caused you to call out, "Monster."
Was my happenstance so loathsome a thing
To wed yourself to thanatos
While my pallid lips could but cry your name

Oh fair Josette
Not by cursed death be taken
Nor by witch's spell
Yet it's true your love be cast upon the eternal winds
And I have not grasp to touch but solely the rememberance
Only that is left me, my beloved
Only that and nothing more
