In My Dreams

You take me in your arms
Your lips meet mine with hunger
Softly the back of your fingers
Stroke slowly down my cheek.

Your lips softly caress mine
As you hold my body tightly to yours
My heart is beating faster
Keeping time with yours

Slowly you begin to move in time to the music
Leading me into the timeless movements of love
Music soft and slow keeps time with the dance
And every night you come to me, in my dreams.

You make soft and beautiful love
So sweet and tender it makes me cry
My heart is beating faster and faster
My love for you is always there

I begin to think I belong in an insane ward

Because you are only there in my dreams

Loving me tenderly and softly

Deeply in my dreams.

...were the power of reality is born! When you finally emerge you will, I'm sure, surprise yourself and your lover. Your poem is so soft, so gentle, so true. The person who touches your heart will die a happy man.

A sweet and tender discourse on longing. And thanks for using the picture of me on it, no...on the right.

... think there are many of us who think that way, Ann! :)) It is perhaps only with other like-minded insane poets that we can feel entirely balanced. And love... well, that has a habit of unseating and dismantling the most stable of psyches... even in dreams! Succulent romance. TY Kate xx

Wonderful dreams, but no comparison to the real thing.

Yet, dreams keep us attuned for possibilities. Have to say, I love your dreams.

What else are dreams for? I however, only seem to dream of bizarre weather related events or strange shopping trips (can't figure why, though lately I may be dreaming of food, if I don't go shopping!)
PS: your giving La Belle some competition here, I'd say! that should keep the competition honest.
