It's Truth That Makes Us Free

Time and time and time again
I help someone in need
Who seeks me out and finds me
With an urgent or desperate plea
I sometimes hesitate to help them
Not sure if it's God's perfect will
But their cry for help touches my heart
As I can feel the pain they feel
But all to often I have come to learn
Helping others can be hard you see
Because as long as I give them all they want
It's then they are pleased with me
But life is not made up of fairy tales
With all happiness and fantasy
Often with help there is the need to change
Then I discover it was for superficial needs
I have learned that those who really want help
Want truth that may be painful for a while
But truth is often difficult to take
When within we still act like a child
But regardless to the attacks, assaults, and grief
I receive from those in need
I must stand tall and trust God through it all
Because it's truth that makes us free

Truth is what God wants of us. Truth is often painful, just as is change. Good write!
