The delirium of the 'heated rush' is wonderful beyond description. It is dizzying at the time and arousing in memory.

First love
Sexual energy
Made the air too hot to breathe
Every day full of passion
Every emotion full-throttle
Making love
Fighting, clawing
Laughing hysterically
Dancing, running
‘Til exhaustion dragged us down
To sleep
Upon the ravaged bed

A roller coaster on quicksand
A pendulum gone mad
Skating the edge of the knife
Every second cuttingly sharp
Laughter or tears
Slashing to eat down to the core
Kissing to drink down to the soul
Each trying to consume the other

Whichever field we trod
Became a battlefield
And we were alive in every molecule
Every single moment
All the colors were neon
All the music was ear-splitting
Even the silent time screamed hunger
‘Til it echoed in our bones
Shattered us and stretched us to a new shape

Desire swallowed us up
Spit us out again
New and gasping
