I'm not sure what this is. It didn't explain itself as it spilled into it's home in my notebook; it simply insisted it belonged in there somewhere.

Blackbirds and mourning doves

Butterflies and turtledoves

Ravens resting peacefully

Peacocks strutting pompously

Why not go and take a swim?

She waits for you there within

The water’s warm

The wind ne’re blows

Though everyone in here well knows

It is not safe to place your feet

Where seldom any creature goes

Shards of mirror glitter round

A room where people glory bound

Remain to wait:

their day’s to come

Their time to reign,

their time to run

Shall they ever have their chance

To show their beloved glory dance?

Or are they forced to sit and ponder

Staring off toward lands non-yonder

Sitting ‘till confusion enters

Is merriment permitted here?

Shall we be fed cheese, wine, and beer?

The table’s gone and no one knows

Who controls what comes and goes

Look and see through lucid cover

Clouds roll in and they do hover

Look and see that snow now falls

It fills the rooms and fills the halls

Tapestries now do appear

Decanters filled with wine and beer

Tables shroud in royal fabric

Do you really want to trust it?

The land of plenty is where you’ve entered

Life and laughter seem its center

But beneath its guise of wonderment

It’s not all truly heaven-sent

These lands that do exist asunder

Exist solely to make you wonder

Is all that’s seen truly present?

Or a result of your puzzlement?

Bridges built to link these lands

Fabricated by silk hands-

Torn apart by the construction

Of places built for their destruction

This land is not what you imagine

Touch and taste of nothing here

Taste not of that sweet wine or beer

Trust nothing that you see within

Faun and deer, bird and mare

Even those with golden air

Are not as they may then appear

They too are what you need to fear

Take care when in these lands confused

Take time to sit: relax and muse

Figure out what’s going on

Do you want to wander on?
