i sit & ponder
i wonder
i wander
back thru my Life

when i was young
when i had first begun
i had my dreams
i had my schemes
of how my Life would be
all built on un-Reality

yet unseen

know what i mean?

Doris Day
just actin' & play

Somewhere along the way
those dreams didn't stay
they just seemed
to drift away
lost in Yesterday

old loves & new
friends that were few
not knowin' what to do
not havin' a clue
about Livin'
about Givin'
about payin' my Due

how quickly Time
seems to have Past
nothing seems to Last
a shawdow is cast
upon Today & Tomorrow
with Yesterday's Sorrow

for some reason
thru each Season
i kept doin' what i do
and gettin' what i got
and that was not alot
of what it was i sought

wife's & children
grandchildren too
they make me happy
they make me blue
because i know it's true
i haven't a clue

so many dreams
all those crazy schemes
tryin' to find happiness
lost in my alone-liness
i must confess

i know not who i am
or who i will be
but i have come to see
that with each day
i awake
each moment i stay
each minute i don't break
there lies another chance
another dance

The Dance of Life

to Live
to Give
of Me

to See
to Know
to Grow
to Be
my Dreams & my Schemes

to Live my Life
such as it Is
'tis much better
than not to have lived

and so Today
i sit & Ponder
i wonder
at Life
i wander
thru past's & present's
Tomorrow's
i wait for happiness
and for sorrow's

for such is Life
with all it's strife
with it's smile
all the while
it passes by...

who knows why?
