Troops You Are In My Heart
We may be far apart, yet daily, You, are on my mind.
I wonder where you are, if you are safe,
What did you see today? Life is an adventure,
I hope we can share our adventure with others.
In my daily thoughts I ask,
Did you sleep well? Did you eat well?
Are you physically well? Mental check?
Emotionally how are you?
Talk to others, talk to me,
Talk about everything, and learn.
Remember to talk about healthy things,
Happy things, positive things.
Make plans for the future, what’s next?
What will tomorrow show us?
Will we share what we saw with someone else?
What about what we learned?
I can only imagine your life, and still you are in my heart.
Still you remain on my mind, constantly I‘m aware of you.
I awake with you on my mind.
You are with me all day.
You are the last person I think of before I sleep.
You, doing your duty, your daily grind whatever it maybe.
You serving your country and protecting people.
You sometimes giving your life, sometimes taking one.
Many times I think of you, and how you answered the call.
How you stood up and said, yes, me, I’ll go, yes that’s my job.
You are brave, courageous, strong, compassionate, caring.
Diligent, relentless, resolute, commanding, demanding and yet flexible.
You are all that is required, to be who you are.
You are awesome.
I think of you often and I’m not alone,
We think of you often until you come home.
Thank you, I love you.
