Watching the leaves turn beautiful shades of yellow, orange and red,

Provides comfort that Autumn is just ahead.

As the leaves start to fall,

You may stop and recall.

The dead ends and obstacles that were in your way,

Those difficult summer days.

It’s time to shed,

All that you dread.

Pruning and thinning,

Preparing for new a beginning.

I live in the desert, but I get the imagery. Leave the past and look to the future: so important.

Autumn is one of my favorite topics and it never ceases to amaze me how we all seem to have the same concepts of its symbolism, bravo! You obviously have the potential to write very simply without losing the interest of the audience...

One of my favorite times of the year next to Christmas is the days when the leaves turn to rainbows. This is indeed a lovely autumn poem dear friend.
