Do Not Fear!
Friend, despair not your heart...
You ask: Who are we to grasp lightly
Our thoughts, fears, scars, and smart...
Your usual self pricked and unmoved,
Love of your life, children secured.
They say: Have no fear for fear's sake,
Judgement shown, an empty lake,
False assumptions...quite untrue .
merely a scatter of clouds in the blue.
Sadness does abound, like pain,
But to all what is life but to gain?
I dress for success and into the world I go!
Smiling, confident, nobility sent out,
Only to rout,
my fears and tears.
Only to meet
Disapointment and Discouragement
Life's twins, our constant companions.
Oh tell me---know your own spirit
that spirit not wholly firm or evil,
Innocent and unusual...a particular judge of life.
But when comes the day ?
That one day of many full of trial and strife.
Yourself, without despair,
Flees and run without fear,
But surely full of ambition,
Not missing out on life's big prizes...
