Off the Hawaiian window, the Pacific azure
this area of my birth allured
Villagers fish and hunt
Sleeping Giants, sand castles lured
As I dream of times no so shunt
There! dancing and frolic
Go the children with flowing play
Music in the air so beautiful the scene
Mothers kneeling with care
I am young again, no idea of time
no worries, cares, no even a dime
My sister sits so pretty with dark eyes
I’m about to born with no disguises
Dad smoking again as he finds
His tools once more, he’s so kind
Then there’s Mom, all dressed and pretty
She never changes, me, a boy so silly
She’s cooking again for five
How she did it I’d never know why
You’re so pretty Mom, I want to hold you now
I’m sorry for not telling you how
much I do love you
My brothers, devils they are
plotting, planning, and doing, stars
Now I know why I have so many scars
We are together but so far apart
Hawaiian dreams and journeys from the start
The air is so fresh
tradewinds touch the flesh
Sweet breaths of mankind
Syrupy Hawaiian music fills, melodies one of a kind
Flocks of birds danced and pranced
Waked up! Move out!
I’m rolled up now in sleeping bag
trapped in a war so far away from birth
Only memories of soft sheets and laughter
the day is a mirror now
sullen birthright splashed...
