a poem about self injury

God bless those who suffer
Both of heart and mind
A life that is an onion
And so many tears to cry

But tears are not my outlet
For fear, and hurt, the shame
The things I feel, the raised flesh
I cannot give it a name

To you Iím a burden
But please donít be afraid
What I do is my business
For thoughts that will not fade

I do not want to die
I simply want to feel
If thatís what I have to do
Itís okay my life is quite real

I just need an outlet
To feel what gets in the way
To something I had faith in
I canít give them away

So God bless you all
But leave me be
I have been unfaithful
Even he canít love me
