a state of mind

Blue Velvet

What questions must be answered to satisfy our souls,
to give us the wisdom to move on with our goals?
I could tell you things that would fill your cup full,
but for now I’ll just tell you; its blue velvet.

It’s a feeling of softness that comes as no surprise,
when under your fingertips and from the delight in your eyes.
We see it in the beauty of the seasonal skies,
but for now I’ll just say,…..it’s blue velvet.

It can comfort hearts lost in the depths of life’s oceans.
It’s an angel’s wing floating amongst clouds in motion.
A smile from a stranger or the kindest of notions.
It’s the fragileness of innocent emotion.
Buttercups bloom from the passion of their living devotion.
Now you see that to me, it’s blue velvet.

We struggle from fear that has torn us apart,
how lonely and afraid we can be.
For you can die over and over and over…….so painfully,
from not knowing the answers to life’s mysteries.

I could tell you what I know that would help you grow,
to accept the seeds in the earth’s clay you have set,
the wisdom that you have not gained just yet.

I hear the plea that you project to me.

But for now,……………………on a stormy day,

Immerse Thyself …… in Blue Velvet.

Marvelous spread out of comfort and strength. This wraps many gifts up in this blue velvet poetry. I value the "A smile from a stranger or the kindest of notions." The enormity of those two events/elements can not be measured. I know from when I smile at people, it is as though they are so surprised. And it changes their face. Lovely words, Dan. ~~ Diana

That's pretty hot in an intellectual sort of way. I think I need to read more of your poetry. There's something about Blue velvet-well, velvet in general, but blue is something special. Ok, now I am getting all David Lynch.

I like the idea of comparing blue velvet to life's mysteries, joys, happiness, and beauty.
