Eyes Of The Moment

There are people and lives beyond our own

Inconvenient downpour interrupts
Play of the little fellow sitting
On the floor, pouting because
The swing outside hangs slack.
He sees through eyes of the moment,
Not knowing somewhere sits
Another boy whose father works
In the store where the handy man
Buys groceries with money
He earns mowing our lawn
Nourished by the rain.

A circle of life in so few words!

You pack a lot into a few short lines. Seems there's always a silver lining. Even this damn oil spill has some hidden pluses. I doubt that they will ever outweigh the damage, but many people will make gains from the jobs it will create.

Nicely said. Thanks, Dick

Ron,

It seems we never appreciate the working man. Very well written.
