For those who spend Christmas all alone. Know that we are thinking of you. May God bless you and be with you.

A Fireside chat.
A bitter Nor'easter blowing outside, a roaring fire within.
I've wine and cheese on the table; pondering life as I sip on my gin.
I'm listening to Bing and White Christmas, all alone by this fire,
another empty Christmas; the situation seems dire.
I just want someone to dote on, somebody to hold;
a friend and lover to shop for, I'm so lonely and cold.
I want a lover that needs me, one I can please,
someone to dream with and dream of;
I'm down on my knees.
I promise to love you, to be faithful, sincere.
That's all I'll ask of Santa this year...

Glen,
Awesome poem Glen. I can feel your pain, your heartbreak in every verse. Its not good to be alone at Christmas or any time. Some of us can feel alone though, even with someone. I feel I've been alone all my life.
Many blessings,
~Linda |

| Makes me bleed, Glen. This goes straight to the heart and pierces the soul. Christmas is such a commercial rat-trap, further exacerbating the apart-ness that many of us feel. Even within the warm circle of friends and family, sometimes. BUT, when it comes down to it, another one person to share The Day with and appreciate the real blessings of communion with is what it's all about... and what really comes to the fore inspite of the mountains of food and wrapping paper that seeks to get in the way. It is the simple Christmas wish of us all, to love and be loved. Truly touching, Glen. Thank you. And hope your interviews and appearances went well. Love, Kate xx |

You express powerful, soul-stirring sentiments via your verses here, Glen. Your poem is eerily similar to one that I posted here some time ago entitled, "Gathering of One." Thank you for sharing. Best wishes to you,
Regis |
