Sidewalk Chalk Drawings.
Time brings a bitterness that comes along with it
It’s a double edged sword, so sharp that it’s painless
And as it relentlessly tick tocks into the unknown
Our hopes and dreams wallow in the receding surf
Steady ticks allows us the ability to grow and to aspire and dream
An hourglass, our stable environment to plot and endeavor to achieve
But because time never falters, vacations or waivers
It keeps ticking forward and limits our windows
And these windows of time close ever so slowly
So slowly that we hardly notice...
One day our end is in sight and our goal isn’t with it
We’ve burgled ourselves, our dreams now stolen by US!
Dream MUCH and dream BIG and dream OFTEN my child
Have a plan and stay focused, be relentlessly wild
For time will not stop, it won’t stand still or await you
Reach out for your dreams and let time not beat you too
Like sidewalk chalk drawings eroding with time
Your dreams will wash away slowly, exactly like mine
These innocent drawings beget dreams yet to be
with erosion and time they get lost in the sea.
