C’est la guerre

I’d be a bold liar
If I gave you a ring—
I don’t want your finger
In bright scaffolding.

Marriage is fine
For the Bourgeoisie—
Love is much nicer
For you, and for me.

So, here is a gem
You just cannot wear—
Do what you want to,
And … c’est la guerre.
