Plank

Sea-sawing wildly, about to fall.

I stayed and watched that swinging plank

But people passed thought me a crank.

So I went my way not knowing when

Or whether that plank fell into the fen.

Very interesting imagery!
And the sense of regret that they swayed your decision of wanting to stay, that you let them influence you is poignant.
Blessings,
Christine
