lead-kissed paper
torn
ear-marked and worn
scribbled notes and coffee stains
muse must lie in chains.

poetry – oh poetry
please come hither, visit me
enchant my mind and spirit, too
give back the verses
I once knew.

delicate as a flower’s petal
unfolding beauty
instead of a riddle
compositions of finest gold
as creativity unfolds.

dusty memories now free
here, here comes thee
oh poetry --
in crying verses she appears
and dries this poet’s lonely tears.

no problems with a visit from the Muse have you my dear friend -- this is very ingenious -- I can certainly relate to the tale which you tell though -- much love and peace -- Jon Michael

OH MY GOD! I love this POEM! Becca
As your muse finds you
hidden with expressive words
it's onward and upwards
as your verses appear honest and clear
feelings of poetry cheer
you make us fully aware.
WRITE ON!

Becca this is so sweetly sad that it really moves the poet in all of us. Your grasp of hearts, love and flowing words is non comparable and it is so good to read your work again.

This has a mystical quality to it, a softness that I enjoyed. Lovely phrasing for something we all face from time-to-time--writers block. Wonderful write! Hugs, Elizabeth

Dusty memories...now free, and the somnolent Muse shouldn't hold those verses to herself. Perhaps a cold tear could wake her.

It is no riddle,
That you do piddle.
When writing verse,
You do not diddle......

I am not a poet, but I have been feeling sad lately; you capture the pain and loneliness well in compelling verse! I hope this isn't directed at me; if it is, I hope you find it in your heart to forgive me!

Boy, do I know how this one feels, Rebecca. You capture the lonely life of a poet, beautifully, powerfully. Well done.
