boldly she snaps
until hardened steel connects.
mangled flesh is not the only wound.
Pain.
There is no way around it --
unavoidable,
so I square up to meet
my destiny and faithfully
stride on.

Becca, this is wonderful, and I fully get it - who hasn't lived and felt this? We must meet our destinies and stride on or crumble into a ball and give up. I choose to keep moving to better things.
