Mirroring

I am your mirror. When you look into my eyes,
you see how beautiful you are.

I am your mirror.  When you look into my eyes,
you see how beautiful you are.
When you enter a room, my heart lifts up to meet you;
a smile of greeting lights me up from within.

I am your mirror.  When you look into my eyes,
you see love, as my soul embraces yours,
revealing to you just how wonderful you are:
my friend, my heart, my son.

I know this feeling well... Through the eyes of my husband and the eyes of my children, both adopted and home-born. Isn't it amazing how easy it is to forget a child is adopted?

When I read your poem "Alone" I just had to read more. And I was well rewarded Debra. I just love the way you express feelings in such concrete ways. I am going to have to buy your book "Son of My Soul".
