FROM: a book of poems I wrote in the 80's exploring a main character's (myself!) feelings about looking back on childhood and then looking forward to a spiritual redemption of what was lost.
There were some good ones in this 100 page anthology. I may publish it someday. Just going through it to see save the photo-typeset copies before they fade. I may not type them all up.
Also curious about that fellow I was back say 20 years or so. Finding out...
If I post more, you'll know these poems by the tag: from: "Childhood to Childhood". The overall title of the collection...
Hope to be back soon with NEW music...
Later, Michael |

GREETING THE WORLD
Welcome Young traveler, fresh from deep sleep
Your eyes are wet with happiness,
Not with tears you have yet to weep.
Greet the world with a fresh and open heart
The sun and sky smile down upon you;
The grass, the trees, the earth of which you’re a part,
Greet you in return; for friends we are right from the start.
A child’s smiling face commands all the world
One surely gets the feel, that here there’s a God so real,
In the kingdom of the soul.
A child’s joy lifts the hearts of every family
And makes a girl of every woman,
And a man of every boy…
That’s the power of a child’s joy.
There you are sitting on the grass; you know nothing of time—future, present or past.
You know nothing of heartache, loneliness or pain
Even you tears are as refreshing as summer rain.
It comes from within you, a shining sunny soul,
A smile on your face: “Greeting the World”
A friendly, magical place
Every plant, every tree, every flower and every bee;
Every frog and every butterfly;
every new day and every blue sky
Every new person you very best friend,
“Childhood to childhood”
May your blessing never end.

It is always a learning and enchanting experience to read a poem that is truly poemized with the heart and the mind; using the tools of the language, which are rhetoric and grammar; – and poetized with the tools of poetics – showing that the mind of a Poet is a creative engine of beauty, wonders and grace to diffuse love, harmony; to learn and to teach; to instruct Solons and to inspire kings and Sovereign queens; to defend art and the language; to stimulate intuition and imagination; and fraternity among mankind.
"Greeting the World" is a mellifluous flower diffusing wise scent of life.
In admiration,
Andre Emmanuel Bendavi ben-YEHU

Ah, the joys of innocent childhood - and you pen them very well. |
