Potholes, Potholes

Ah, spring in New England. It isn't just about mud and dandelions anymore.

When suffering from writer's block, I like to go ride my bike on rural back roads where the moose roam. The best ideas always come to me while exercising...especially if I'm miles from nowhere with nothing to write on, forcing me to frantically pedal home, trying to remember, before that perfect sentence is lost forever. My Muse likes to taunt me that way.

Lately I've been rhyming a lot, too, while working on children's books. So the following rhyme sprang into my mind immediately after hitting a small crater in the road at 25 mph.

Potholes, potholes deep and wide.
Potholes, potholes on my ride.
Look out, bikers. Look out, bikes.
Uh oh! Pothole! Watch out! Yikes!

A cute rhyme. Kids will love it. May even encourage them to bike. Hugs,
Sheila
