Ozzie gets up in the morning and puts on his coat and tie
Goes downstairs to the kitchen where Harriet's baking a pie
The kids come down for breakfast and say hi to mom and pop
David slicks his duck tails and Ricky butches up his flat top
Well Harriet never bitches, the woman never complains
She always wears a smile and never suffers menstrual pains

I want to live my life just like Ozzie and Harriet
With Doc and Thorny as my cohorts
And sip on sodas all day down at the malt shop
And have no visible means of support

Harriet does her household chores and works for her charities
Has a potluck at the womans club and takes care of the kids acne
She aways wears an apron and she always wears a bra
She doesn't believe in womens lib and she never sleeps in the raw
The Nelson's never use the bathroom, they never need to poop or pee
I guess that's not the kind of thing people do on T.V.

I want to live my life just like Ozzie and Harriet
And sleep alone all night in a single bed
I don't want to work and make a living
I'd rather play golf all day instead

The kids are honor students, they never drink or smoke grass
And they're waiting until they are married to get a piece of ass
Yes the boys are model children, they never scream, yell or fight
And each week they learn a lesson about what's wrong and right
Nothing bad happens to the Nelsons, no colds, flue or V.D.
Yes, everyone loves the Nelsons, the all American family

I want to live my life just like Ozzie and Harriet
And sleep alone all night in a single bed
I don't want to work and make a living
I'd rather play golf all day instead

I want live my life just like Ozzie and Harriet
With Doc and Thorny as my cohorts
And sip on sodas all day down at the malt shop
And have no visible means of support

Thanks for the poetic nostalgia and a reminder of the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.
