This Japanese form of poetry consists of 5 syllables in the first line, 7 in the second line, and 5 in the last line.

Often they are associated with nature and often broad enough to be open to the interpretation of the reader.

**************************

Like fingers reaching

For whatever may be there

The branches reach out.

**************************

Looking to the past

I see the future is now

And not tomorrow.

**************************

I see without eyes

Just as I hear without ears

And speak without words.

**************************

Every living thing

Must come to its final goal

Predestined or not.

**************************

For man to know Truth

First he must seek and find lies.

How else will he know?

**************************

Life is a fragment.

Death is a fragment also.

But the two are One.

**************************

I am the music.

The music and I are One.

There is nothing else.

**************************

Hi gary, this is cathy walker from the tweleve maranatha forum ( alias "synchronicity"..(we've talked before) thanks..and I love what I've read of your work..well done..the people at tweleve also found you very interesting ..why did you stop going there..?
anyway another synch..a man at a place called adland has been talking about haiku poetry recently and lol and behold here I see that you are featuring it here as well..is that your own work or from a japanese master..? it's wonderful.
..if it is yours or if you are very interested in this subject then can I introduce you to a new forum and someone who loves poetry..?..they are not experts or word smiths like you ..gary
..but just a few ordinary people interested in poetry..the haiku must have really captured his interest..which it does seem to do in it's beautiful simplicity... doesn't it.

maybe talk to you soon back at tweleve in the maranatha forum..?
I'm sure the crew there..the "old questers" would love to hear from you again. ..you know we've been working on this for almost 3 years now..still no signs of a brakthrough no signs of the key!!..frustrating it is..very frustrating

regards from catherine walker
