Tonight

© Kathy Armijo, 10/05/2010

Tonight there is a gentle breeze.

Take away all my troubles if you please.

There is no gloom

Only the shining moon

I sit and contemplate my fate

Knowing that it is very, very late.

Still, I have to pen my thoughts

Lest they get lost.

When did my youth take a left turn?

There are days that I feel a yearning

For what was

But is now only a fleeting memory.

How is it that the many of my dreams

Are still waiting for fulfillment

Will there be time left to do

All the dreams or just a few?

Is the darkness simply a reminder

To rest and revive my energies …

For tomorrow another glorious day

Will arrive

On this knowledge I  will thrive

Remembering that to have dreams

Is to know hope

And strive to accomplish as many as I can

Tonight there is a gentle breeze

Taking my troubles to a distant place

Still, I am showered with inspiration

By the light of God’s silvery moon

Beautifully written, expressed in a great way. My dreams are still coming true, and I count God as the one who makes them come true.
It's like an angel is looking over me each day and I am lead to people who know God and can express their feelings about him.

This is a very beautiful piece written of hope and dreams awaiting fulfillment. Love never comes too late regardless of our age or time in life. We can only embrace it and appreciate it for the time we have on earth or we lose it all. Excellent work. Con carino

Dear Kathy, This nicely expressed poem says everthing. But it is never late to dream, to fulfill anything you like in this lovely world. You just said it: "I am showered with inspiration, By the light of God’s silvery moon" This is a blessing, you should enjoy it. Love Emile
