Life’s Path

© Kathy Armijo, November 2011

The path I believed was my destiny

Was to be sunny and bright

Filled with laughter and every imaginable delight

The path He chose for me

While still sunny and bright

Sometimes leaves me fretting into the night

I close my eyes and try to sleep

Still, I want to continue the ‘discussion’

Asking Him for clarity or to make it go away

Oft-times I beg and plead for a resolution

That is to MY liking …

Bartering to get my way

He could easily give in to me

But, what would that accomplish

Would it make me stronger? Or, make me weaker?

Finally, when I get an inkling or perhaps it is my own ‘spin’

Into what the plan is

There is an immeasurable inner calmness

He who knows what is right

Has given me much to contemplate

The choice is mine … to decide which path I take

Life’s path may not be what I wanted for myself

I may not like the road I need to take

I may fight it every step of the way it,

But I would truly have no other life

For I know on life’s path… … ….

He is always there holding my hand …

Reminding me that He is my Shepherd …

I am His lamb …

Guiding and helping me stay on His righteous path

I often say that when I argue with God, guess who wins.
Just reading your words brings me closer to you.
Good to see you back.
Love you.

We must all choose our own path.

I find it fascinating that you call a new bridge, old.
Just up road the bridge was built in 200 AD, we never think of it as old or otherwise as it spans the river. It's just the route home after night at pub.
