I was not too late...

Beautiful Brown Eyes
My mind does not
wander from you

Everyday I feel insane
unable to set you free
my heart beats for you

I sit here again
thinking of you
wondering 'what if...'

Finally I find
the nerve and
I call you

Beautiful Brown Eyes
I feel them looking to me
As you say "Hello"

Your soft sensual voice
sends a shiver
down my spine

I stutter and mumble
as I try to find the words
I hear again "Hello"

Beautiful Brown Eyes you
knew my voice we spoke
as if it were only yesterday

My heart is pounding
and gitty I am here
talking with you

As though it were
a natural thing to do
still nervous and tangled

You put me at ease
as you always have
we made a date

Alice's on the ridge
I arrived first
practicing my words

Warm hands from behind
cover my eyes
I rose we embraced

For hours we went on
I found the nerve
to tell you my 'what if...'

Your smile so tender
telling me that it
was No tease

We shared our lives
I told you of travels
that I had taken with you

Your turn to share
voice was calm
a serious tone

You had found
a love for life...until
death did you part

Never stuttering a word
continuing with brave
you too were ill

Beautiful Brown Eyes
locked with mine
my call had been your wish

Your hand reached mine
a language all your own
we had smiles and  tears

...then said Goodbye

I received the call an hour ago
Your Beautiful Brown Eyes
are looking from above

I cried and smiled, happy
for the courage I found
to tell you my 'What If...' Beautiful Brown Eyes

It's better to be honest with someone about ur situation right up front, let them know what they're dealing with, rather than pull at heart strings, then withdraw into the pity party..leaving someone's heart all tangled, and stressed out. Why not let the other person decide whether they are up for it or not..
Sweet November comes to mind, boy if there was ever a movie that angered me it was that one!!
I'm being pretty blunt here i know, but as one who has been through a fairly similar situation.. It's just so selfish!
Take care Carin, you deserve to be really happy! xx

Dear Carin'
I paged through your den for Beautiful Brown Eyes part 1, before I read this...and am very glad that I did. The expression in these poems are deep and moving. I am sorry for your loss.

So moving and touching. The fulfillment of a dream and the crushing of it all at the same time. Brilliant. Liz
