Breathe in,

Breathe out.

Color pulses between our fingers,

We’re grabbing at rainbows.

This acid trip is laced with sobriety.

Delicious reality.

Hair twists between my teeth

As we pulse blindly through life

Frighteningly intertwined

Yet heartbreakingly separated.

Living precariously,

Cherishing blisters itched by stilettos.

Where’s the fun in lamenting?

Let’s forget conversation for a change.

Let’s scream with delirious insanity

And hope we burst the eardrums

Of our grandparents.

Life bends itself into ribbons,

Twisting around your soul.

Academic masturbation

Satisfies only those who hold the strings.

Desperate for emotion,

Storing adrenaline away,

Sick of pacing yourself.

It’s time to binge without purging.

Stop inhaling.

Start breathing.

oh the yearning just to chuck all the pleasantries and just be oneself in this world of facades and best foot forwards. Well spoken Natasha.
I enjoy reading your poetry, and it makes me think more deeper and live more livelier. ~Z
