What teenage dreams are made of

(Kalafatas, the best bakery downtown Yaounde, Cameroon. One could smell freshly baked goodies from miles away. A boy with starry eyes, desserts of every kind...who said the way to only a man's heart was through his belly?--what about a woman?)

A date
set
a delectable dessert dressed
in mocha suit
a boy
with the sun
in his eyes
a girl
convinced
no one has ever
felt this way before…

(...a recipe for 'metamorphosis')

To say this is short and sweet is a complete understatement, Bernice. There is such power in your lines and you have sketched the outline for a whole novel and given us an introduction to two characters who intrigue and to whom we can relate in just so few words. A taster here that whets the appetite for more of your work. Thank you, Kate xx
