Excerpt from my book "Lemonade Street"
Enjoy!

To say there are words
to possibly describe this
Would be
to ridicule what I feel inside
I’m working on it
in my lifetime
I will create
a language just for you
For right now
when I say
‘I love you’
Remember
always
It holds
much more
than words
could ever do

(…much more than words…)

Too use those words is to commit the heart and that is an expensive gift to give. All too often I hear it lately thrown about as common as saying hello and althouth I agree we should never fail to let people know how much we care...to say "I love you" should always be special. Very lovely write dear Bernice...enjoyed.

Can I borrow one of those forks, I'm hungry. My plastic one broke. I was trying to stick it into a tough piece of breakfast steak, my mistake. Anyway your verse holds much water, it would even hold the Atlantic, minus the sharks, they really make me frantic, of course I'm a verse addict, to read you I'd swim the Atlantic, the Red Sea, fight a bumble bee, jump the in the Pacific, still feeling terrific,

very apt photograph for your poem. words are like the prongs (tongues) of the forks. forked tongues. maybe another language already exists. as you describe so well, beyond words.

Bernice,

We can search a lifetime for just the right words. Too much time is wasted looking when simplicity says it all. Peace, Love and God's Blessings Always, Paul.

Like entwined fingers, don't need words to tell us what feelings are there, flowing back and forth.
