Pour ma maman que jaime ...Happy Birthday in Advance Mama. My mom turns 50 on September 25th.

Mamele: "Ma-me-lee" is yiddish for Little Mommy.

Mother, full of tenderness
Mother, most beautiful word that fills my heart
little mommy, how sweet and incomparable are you

Without you, Mamele, sadness would cloud my days

Mother,  sweet darling

Hold me in your arms forever

Hold me close enough to feel your heart beat against mine

Rock with me, sing to me

And when the stars shatter above our heads, rekindling the magic

Of times when our two souls knew of no distance,

When the straws are all dull and in their eyes a world’s coming apart

Mamele, incandescent lover, lover of me

I shall make a graceful exit ever knowing I saved my very last dance for you.

For mama, whom I adore.

This is beautiful! I love how it shows that beautiful bond between a mother and her child.
I had to think of Haiti when I read your title. The mother of the orphanage director lives at the orphanage and they have always called her "Mamaleeown" (written phonetically). Now I wonder if it is a form of the Yiddish Mamele??
