>Poor Guy!<

Just laying here,

In the sun,

Just hours ago,

On the run,

Should’ve went left,

Instead of right,

Happened so quick,

Late last night,

Did my best,

In despair,

My luck ran out,

To a Mountaineer,

Now I’m dead,

Squished from a trot,

One half's fine,

The other half's not,

Entrails scattered,

From the rear,

Some from the mouth,

The rest from my ear,

One eye is missing,

It launched down yonder,

Bounced a few yards,

Landed in the gutter,

So much for collecting nuts,

So much for having them too,

Now I stay to rot,

All because of you,

LOL, Duane. There's a poem in my poetry book about this from the same perspective. Great minds.... Mine is quite different, though - mine survived but was shaken. I like your graphic version. I can picture this vividly. Every time I see a dead critter in the road, I cross myself. A habit I formed when I first started driving. I feel bad for their families. Great poem.
