we were supposed to get together

but something held her back

and she cancelled at the last minute

whatever…you do that

its cool I’m still going

its free concert night in central park

well not THE central park

this is southern California

she says its too hot, oh please

girlfriend... wear shorts and a tank top

flipflops, lets go

she bailed

I went

hey its “Sticky Fingers”

cover band for Rolling Stones

all the way from New York City

oh ya I wanna hear some rock and roll

cause “I ain’t got no satisfaction”

brought a nice crowd ages infant to seniors

lawn chairs, picnics, dogs on leashes

watched the whole show

including the encore, was waiting for a song

“gimmie shelter” and they didn’t play it

instead.. ya know

what I had to hear

this final song

“you make a grown man cry”

sometimes

truth

sucks

Very good trip down that nostalgic highway, but somehow it just wasn't the same, huh? Gotta love it.

i love the stones, finally got to see the steel wheels tour before i was too old to rock :} and they played gimme shelter...it was so great and they even played my favorites, dead flowers and wild horses. was this band good enough to cover the stones?
