aware many across the US are experiencing temps nearer to summer, yet here in the PNW, our spring is just arriving

the irresistible urge
to experience sunshine
and the awakenings of
the shrubs, as spring
rains swell roots

tender buds plump
in eager energy received
by the invisible lifeforce
flowing upon currents
and length of light

milder temperature offsets
the breeze less harsh
than March's wind
of dramatic blowing out
of winter's dominating
hibernation

delicate green tips of hyacinth, daffodil, tulips
grace the path where crocus boldly
brave their colors against
the brown and grey sleeping
landscape
birds begin courting
the sparrows exploring
nest boxes wiggle
with builders within

my heart starts expanding
allowing, less contracting
as the urge of awakenings
knocks at the door

The beautiful words of your poem were lost as I gazed upon the object of my spring fever, the seductive woman in the garb of a birch tree. Yummy.

this is positively burgeoning with the movement and life-force of spring, Debby! We've had it here... now, sadly, we're retracting again into the iron grip of winter...Hopefully your spring door will remain open! :)) xx
