Forgotten

It has all been washed away.
So many times.
The faded lines.
And forgotten rhymes.
Repeat a dull rythym in my brain.

I try to turn away.
From the sound and all the noise.
But I'd forgotten how.
And so here I sit.
Alone in my thoughts.
Wondering exactly why.

Was it the drugs?
Maybe my pills?
Simply unimportant?

Have I lost the way?
Will I forget again?
Or will I just fade away?

I've forgotten too much to be simple.
And gained too much to be trusted.
My mind isn't safe.
I'm not running away.

I'm forgetting what I once was....

Ecdllent reading of despair and the confusion abuse brings. One thing about hitting bottom. The first rung upward is closer.
