Letting go is sometimes the best thing

Passing by
I caught his eye
And he caught mine
Beautiful one stole my heart and mind
And I wish to stop timeÖ

To pause this present moment to catch my breath
Because I lost it the minute he retraced his footsteps

And here we are time on a stand still
I feel sorry for him because I know what time will reveal

Releasing pause to hit fast forward

If only Iíd ran away from that moment like a coward

All the bags Iíve carried before our meeting
Itís no wonder time is flying by and along with it Iím fleeting

I canít love him like he needs to be
I should have pressed pause long before to deal with me

At his own expense, my future beautiful one has to pay for it all
My bad judgments, decisions, and past downfalls

I canít trust him even though he hasnít broke it
I love him but I canít show it

Releasing pause to hit rewind
Press PlayÖ.

My life filled with disappointments from men
Every time I get over I allow another to infect that same womb again

Never thinking I could ever be truly loved in that way
Never thinking I had what it took to make them stay

So beautiful one as you pass by
I refuse to look up and catch your eye
For your sake, I canít let you steal my heart and mind
I donít wish to stop time

I simply have to watch you walk the other way
I already know what you will say
And before I ruin your life and put my heart in danger
I simply have to let you go familiar stranger
