Fairy Tales

Fairy tales are fairy tales.

I quest to make them true ,

But once I reach the rainbow,

I’ll come back home to you.

You never said not to go.

You wished for me the best,

Loving me enough you said,

To pass my little test.

On my own, I left that night

To find my inner self,

And left you far behind me,

Our love upon the shelf.

I traveled ever onward,

In search of something lost,

Never with a thought or care,

How much it all would cost.

I grew tired out on my own

And drifted back your way,

Right to where I should have been,

With too few words to say.

I have no explanations

For where I went or why,

And there is still no reason,

For why I made you cry.

But I did learn a lesson,

While Out there on my own.

No matter where I wandered,

Your love would call me home.

Fairy tales are fairy tales.

They never will come true .

I did not find the rainbow.

I found my love for you.
