After the Rain
It becomes an oasis right
after a rare winter’s rain.
For that’s when its true beauty comes to life.
Wild flowers, in shades of purple and white
blanket the once barren fields.
The majestic saguaro stands ten feet
tall, as it points with its two arms to the sky
Far away, wild horses appear like magic.
Their manes like flags blowing in the wind.
A shy desert flower blooms after the rain
Her petals have opened, a miraculous sight.
A roadrunner comes from nowhere,
and not wanting be seen
Scurries off into a hidden bush
A lone tumbleweed jumps and
flies while being pushed by the wind.
The life, beauty and love of the
desert is a very precious thing.
But the most important part of any life
is the One that created it.
The sun comes out from up above.
And there sits a bow, reminding us of God’s love.
