what true friendship is all about

No my friend, it’s not the end, though
It may seem so now.   A mother’s hurt
From stinging words, aching in your heart
They will dull in time.
But your answer to this dreadful ache
will not be squelched by wine.
So put down the bottle, and look at me.
Yes, she hurt you with her acid tongue.
It pains me so to see the damage her
Evilness has done.
Somehow this scene is upside down, you were
always the one that turned me around.
Our friendship will always last, you’ve always
taken me down the right path.
You’ve often told me, “Turn to the Lord;
He will show you the way”
Dear friend, look at me, when things
Go wrong, do you think His love just fades away?
Please don’t tell me you’ve lost your faith.
Don’t walk away from me! You’re going to hear what
I have to say! First things first, throw that awful bottle away!
Listen to me when I talk to you; you have problems you’re
going to face!
Cry if you will, let your feelings out, I really do feel for you.
Use my shoulder for your pillow if it takes away the sting
I remember a very wise woman that always used to say:
“Turn to the Lord, He will show you the way”
