Computers are great...not always.

This could be about a bad day but this is fiction. Although over the years, things like this have happened.

Mary E Lacey

Flipping a switch, it came to life, my best non-human friend
It helps me to write, and shop, and even learn a few things.
But after what it did to me this morning, our romance is coming to an end.
I was drinking my morning coffee waiting for it to come on. It was
Taking forever, what on earth was wrong? It finally came up and went
Down again, Monday mornings are drags, I guess it fell asleep.
It came up again, I went into my email, not going there, tried to log in
and it kept saying my password incorrect. I used the same password
For so long, and today it tells me it’s wrong?
Oh well, to heck with that, deal with it later. I went into my favorite
Sites but kept getting a server error. It told me that the page wasn’t there.
But it decided to change its mind, as if it didn’t care.
I went into Author’s Den to rate some poems and see some friends. It was so slow, I just got out, and was wondering what this was all about.
For now, I’ll leave the Internet, and write some things in Word. It should
Be an easy thing, and it wouldn’t give me any grief.
Ah, what fool this mortal be! I wrote an entire story, and everything was fine, until another error came up very quickly said save, but the computer is quicker than the eye!   The ten pages I typed were all wiped out and floating out in cyberspace.
Okay, I’ve had enough, I’ll turn this darn thing off. I’m not playing any more games after all my work was lost.
I hit start to shut down, and it said, action could not be completed. Oh for crying out loud, I was beginning to hate the thing, I just couldn’t believe it.
I know it was having a laugh at my expense, and I didn’t know what to do, so I unplugged the thing and kicked it square in the CPU!

This is so funny with such dry wit but unfortunately, so true. We have become slaves to technology and it is scary. You express your frustrations we all feel in such a unique way with no rancor. Anyone who uses a PC can relate to this, even those who are not into poetry. This is one of the most universally appealing writes I have had the pleasure to read and the honor to review. Keep up your wonderful work, Mary. You have a real gift.

I love it! I kicked it square in the CPU! Couldn't be better -- I felt that way about my computer just this morning ... and then finally I figured out what I had done wrong. What me do something wrong? No it was my computer after all -- it kept insisting one printer was my default ... when it definitely wasn't. So much for my love/hate relationship with my computer. Have you cleared your cookies/searches? Have you defragged? That may speed up your computer. Kicking in the slats won't help (and you might break a toe). Well penned, Mary. Hope your Internet Blues clear up soon!

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

It seems to me that you've been hacked. You said you cannot get into your e-mail with your usual password. So now, you better change your password and then run a virus check as well to get rid of any spyware, adware, or viruses. I hope you didn't do your bankings online for there was a major issue with the hackers obtaining credit cards number and making purchases. It was on the news a few days ago. When your visa bill comes, double-check your bill to make sure the purchases are all yours.

About your computer, you can also try to restore it back to the day that your computer was running well. Say...if day before yesterday your computer was running well, then restore your computer to the date of day before yesterday. See if it would improve anything. But definitely it sounds like you have a virus or spyware of some sort that is attacking your system. Beware...after you have run the virus check and gotten rid of all malicious software, then you MUST change ALL your passwords.
