can't explain it
Looking at my desk, been two months
since paper touched pen. Together
they lie, not speaking to one another.
Tried very hard to make them meld.
How do I get them to talk to each other?
Entered some words on my trusty keyboard.
But the words just made an awful smell.
What’s wrong with my mind, or am I just bored?
Searching for something to say, a story to
write, perhaps a poem today. But my mind has gone dry.
How sad for a once active muse to die.

|A time to write
A time for quiet
Not of a quietus
Only of a hiatus
I stumbled across your poetry while looking for a secretary's day poem to share with the secretaries at work. Poetry is your gift, I believe one of many. I am a fan. I discovered you and Author's Den. Thank you.

|NOT 'DEAD', MARY, JUST TAKING A LITTLE 'SIESTA' BUT STILL GIVING YOU LITTLE SPURTS AS EVIDENCED IN THIS PIECE. FOR EVEN WHEN A POET THINKS THEY ARE SAYING NOTHING...IT IS SOMETHING. I CAN ASSURE YOU, IT WILL RETURN WHEN ITS READY, IN THE FASHION THAT YOU'VE BECOME ACCUSTOMED TO. MEANWHILE... I THINK ONE OF THE HARDEST THINGS TO DO IS TO 'WAIT' BUT IT WILL BE MORE THAN WORTH IT. I ENJOYED THIS. THANKS FOR SHARING. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...

|muses don't die Mary, they just go on a brief hiatus... watch and see, as your muse returns to see those locked up words and phrases free!|

|R.I.P. Requiescant in Pace ...
Bemused by your Muse?
Of She, do you Accuse?
Is She in Seclusion?
Or is it just an Illusion?
Be Patient, then expect Fusion!
Merry Christmas - Tom...

|I like your take on "writer's block" - very ingenious ..... guess you have to start sleeping with pen and paper at your side so you can write down your thoughts before they disappear "from mental view". I have thoughts that come into my head ... I figure I'll write them down later .... but later I can't seem to put those words together. Guess I should take my own advice. Susan|
