He said I was Beautiful…

I then told him…

I have beauty;

Oh yes, indeed I think I do…

But it is only seen

on the other side;

for only there is the reflective depths

of my hearts true imbue…

If you look closely

you will see undenied;

I have petals of tenderness

that stem from my strength

to support what I do not hide;

I also have very strong roots

that know the reasons why

 true st beauty is often denied…

But you see I have always known…

this part of me is hidden from his eyes...

You are petals of tenderness my dear Victoria McCalley.
Through your words, your roots pierce the soils of my heart,
unveiling their elements to my blood and vision to my soul.

It is beautiful when someone tells you that you are beautiful, especially on a more profound level. I've been getting that more in my life of late from various people, and it is indeed something that is beautiful. We should have a good sense ourselves, a strong sense of self esteem, but one needs to hear that from others, that deep kind of appreciation for ones soul.

The last stanza is intriguing. I shall ponder on that last stanza and get back to you in regards to my thoughts on that.

Thank you, as well, for appreciating the beauty of my poetry and my spirituality. It is very deeply apprecaited. They are both aspects of my life I've worked on very much, and it does a heart good to have it appreciated by someone who is poetic and spiritual as well :)

To describe the underlying reasons for beauty that is displayed, in such a terrific poetic piece requires a masterful poet. Take a bow. Jon Michael Willey
