Calling of Valedictions

Standing within the silence

of perils doom…I heard someone knocking

on the gated chisel of my heart’s door.

Like an echo of fear

permeating into the distant memories of abandon,

I looked outside

to peer into the distrusting foyer of stepping stones.

Nothing stood in the silent passageway

of presence;

nothing but emptiness

knocking on the perseverance

of my heart’s recessing threshold.

Like a shadow of wind

captured inside the glimpse of tomorrow

I needed to answer the calling of valedictions…

Within all confusion I became like a beggar of hope,

thinking silently

into the chambers of my soul,

I peered outside…

Perhaps the promise of love’s trust has arrived…

We are all searching, hoping to find that once we open the door, it will be for that right person. We take chances because we have hope, hope that outweighs the fear, and if we're lucky, what enters our lives is as wonderful as a breath of fresh air ... No matter what may, keeping hope and faith is what makes life worth living. Once that is gone, so is life, and then why live? Reminds me so much of my uncle and the choice he felt he had to make ... to find relief in some way.

goodbyes are endings in and of themselves. there is always hope in I'll see your later. only that later seems to never come. be blessed and always smile.

"Perhaps the promise of love’s trust has arrived…" Keep hoping and pressing forward in faith. From what you shared with me on HAWN, I know that you have endured much and have been given much wisdom in return.

Nice imagery in this one Vickie. I like the intermingling of melancholy and hope.

Light and Wisdom ...

Once again, a most compelling offering, Vickie.

I peered outside…
Perhaps the promise of love’s trust has arrived

A spark of hope at the end. Thank you for sharing. Love and hugs and best wishes,

"...distrusting foyer of stepping stones..." which one should look at and never fall to the temptation of walking over it...

Very nice. This feels like an important moment of inward thought and emotion. From beginning to end, a journey of the spirit. Well done.
